Watercolor & Ink on 12x12” Cotton Rag
Visiting the Louvre was an overwhelming experience in the best way. Originally a medieval fortress, it was transformed into a royal palace and eventually a world-famous museum, combining Gothic, Renaissance, and Classical French styles. I focused my sketch on the iconic glass pyramid juxtaposed with the classical stone facades, capturing the contrast between modern design and centuries-old architecture. Walking through the courtyard, I was struck by the rhythm of the arches, the intricate details of the windows and sculptures, and the way the space guides visitors through history. Painting it in watercolor and ink let me translate that blend of elegance, structure, and vibrant life into a single moment I experienced firsthand
