Bibi Khanym Mosque
Samarkand

Watercolor & Ink on 5x7" Cotton Rag

This piece focuses on the distinctive Timurid architecture of the Bibi-Khanym Mosque. I was drawn to its large pointed arches, massive scale, and the clear geometric structure of its domes and facades. Even though I haven’t visited, studying its architectural style through reference images helped me appreciate its engineering and design details. Creating this watercolor and ink sketch was a way to explore those forms closely and highlight the strong lines, symmetry, and craftsmanship that make the mosque such a significant architectural landmark
